Nordstrom to Open First Free-Standing Day Spa On Chicago's Michigan Avenue in 2003
SEATTLE, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. announced today it will open its first free-standing day spa at The Shops at North Bridge at 520 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Spa Nordstrom is scheduled to open in spring 2003 and will offer a unique, natural approach to beauty that treats the individual as a whole. The 3,500 square foot spa will be located near the third floor entrance of the Michigan Avenue Nordstrom store.

Nordstrom opened on Michigan Avenue in 2000. The first Spa Nordstrom opened in San Francisco in 1988. When the John Buck Company approached the retailer with the idea of leasing space within the shopping center for a spa, Nordstrom agreed.

Nordstrom currently operates nine full service in-store spas at the following locations: the Dallas Galleria, Oakbrook Center in Illinois; Roosevelt Field in New York; Downtown Seattle; Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Ariz.; San Francisco Centre; Somerset Collection in Troy, Mich.; Paramus, NJ; and Perimeter Mall in Atlanta.
