Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes Run to Temporarily Suspend Traffic in University District on Sunday, May 15

SEATTLE, May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

On Sunday, May 15, traffic near the University of Washington and Montlake Bridge in Seattle will be temporarily suspended for the 29th annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes 8K run, which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Montlake Closures

From 7:15 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Montlake Boulevard will be closed from NE Pacific Street to 44th Avenue NE.


520 Ramp Closures

From 8:15 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., both Eastbound and Westbound off-ramps to 520 at Montlake will be closed.


Bridge Closures

The Montlake Bridge will close from 8:15 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. The University Bridge will close from 8:40 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. Both bridges will be closed to road and waterway traffic.


Boyer Avenue Closure and Pacific Avenue Traffic Delay

Boyer Avenue East in both directions from Lynn Street to University Bridge will be closed from 8:20 a.m. until 9:10 a.m. There will be additional traffic delays on Pacific Avenue from 8:15 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Visitors to the University of Washington campus during the aforementioned times should expect limited parking and possible delays as there are additional race routes that take participants through the campus. This year's Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes events are expected to attract over 10,000 participants and spectators.
