Registration Begins for 20th Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge Events

    WHAT:      Registration for the 20th Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge
               events to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
               (JDRF) begins April 15th. Nordstrom Beat the Bridge will be
               held at Husky Stadium at the University of Washington on
               Sunday, May 19th.

               This year's anticipated participation should reach over 8,500
               runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters. Beat the Bridge
               hopes to raise $1,000,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research
               Foundation.

    WHEN:      Monday, April 15th                 Registration Begins

               Saturday, May 18th  5:00 p.m.      Registration Ends

               Sunday, May 19th                   RACE DAY
                                   8:00 a.m.      4-mile Family Walk Begins
                                   8:15 a.m.      1-mile Fun Run Begins
                                   8:30 a.m.      8K Race Begins
                                   10:00 a.m.     Awards Ceremony
                                   10:20 a.m.     Diaper Derby, a non-
                                                  competitive event for kids
                                                  3-years and younger.  Pre-
                                                  registration is required and
                                                  you must check in the day of
                                                  the event.  There are four
                                                  divisions: crawlers, walkers
                                                  up to 24-months, 2 year
                                                  olds, and 3 year olds.
                                                  There is no registration
                                                  fee.

    WHERE:          Participants can register in the Customer Service
                    department at any Puget Sound area Nordstrom store
                    (excluding Nordstrom Rack stores) through 5:00 p.m. on
                    Saturday, May 18th.  Entries will also be accepted on the
                    day of the race at Husky Stadium beginning at 7:00 a.m.
                    You may also register on-line at
                    www.ontherun.com/beatthebridge until 9:00 p.m. on Friday,
                    May 17th.

    REGISTRATION:   Registration fee is $10 per person; $20 will include an
                    official Beat the Bridge t-shirt.  No entry fee for the
                    Diaper Derby.  Registration begins Monday, April 15th and
                    ends at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th.
