SEATTLE (July 21, 2014) – Nordstrom, Inc., one of the United States’ leading fashion specialty retailers, will post 30 management positions on Thursday, July 24, 2014 for its store at Rideau Centre in Ottawa. The store, the second for the retailer in Canada, will open on Friday, March 6, 2015. Interested applicants are invited to apply for the jobs at careers.nordstrom.com. Management hiring will begin in late August 2014. The company will hire an additional 350 employees for sales and support roles beginning in January 2015.

Management positions are available in all areas of operation including men’s, women’s, and kid’s apparel, shoes, accessories, and cosmetics, as well as various support positions in alterations, housekeeping, logistics, a restaurant and an espresso bar. Managers receive a 33% merchandise discount, as well as a competitive supplemental benefits package, which includes vision, dental and medical options, and RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Plan) matching program.

“We’re looking to hire service-oriented Ottawans who love fashion and working with customers, and have leadership and or management experience,” said John Banks, store manager for Nordstrom Rideau Centre. “Nordstrom is a great place to build a career in retail. Canada is a new frontier for us and there will be opportunities to grow with the company as we expand and open stores across Canada.”

Those hired into management positions will be brought to Seattle for a cultural immersion program where they will learn about the company culture, hear from Nordstrom leaders and have the opportunity to work alongside a mentor manager in a local store. The Seattle management program will take place from October-December 2014. Housing, food and travel will be paid for by Nordstrom. The company recently held a similar training program in Seattle for the management team of its Chinook Centre store in Calgary. Nordstrom Chinook Centre opens on Friday, September 19, 2014.
