Nordstrom Opens New Store at Saint Louis Galleria in St. Louis, Missouri

Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. opened the doors to its newest store in St. Louis today at Saint Louis Galleria. The second Nordstrom store in the St. Louis market is 144,000 square feet and will offer a well-edited selection of quality, luxury and designer fashion brands for women, men and children.

"We've been serving customers in the St. Louis market for nine years and couldn't be happier to open a second store at Saint Louis Galleria," said Beth McAuley, store manager. "We look forward to creating a special shopping experience for everyone - from customers we've served before to those we hope will come on in to meet us."

The new two-level Nordstrom store features a compelling mix of apparel, accessories, shoes and cosmetics. Among the designer offering, customers will find fashion from Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier, Armani Collezioni, Missoni and Roberto Cavalli. To complement this offering, the store also offers handbag collections from Valentino, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, and Marc Jacobs, as well as footwear from Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Vera Wang Lavender, and Tory Burch.

Customers will also find an expansive cosmetics department offering a wide selection of some of the most recognized classic brands to the cutting edge and trend items including fragrances by Jo Malone, Diane von Furstenberg and Burberry. The store will also carry renowned make-up and skincare lines such as Kate Somerville, La Mer and Laura Mercier.

Nordstrom at Saint Louis Galleria offers a number of services to enhance the shopping experience. These amenities include in-store alterations and tailor shop, certified bra and prosthesis fitters, certified shoe fitters, complimentary gift boxes and a large team of Personal Stylists - a complimentary wardrobe and shopping service. The store will also feature two food offerings: a Cafe Bistro and an espresso bar.

Opening day started at 8 a.m. with Nordstrom hosting a cosmetics Beauty Bash. Shoppers learned about the newest cosmetics and fragrances for the fall season, and enjoyed complimentary skincare consultations and makeup lessons from Nordstrom beauty advisors. When the store opened at 10 a.m., customers were greeted by cheering employees who lined the aisles and welcomed them through the doors.

On Wednesday night, over 1,500 guests attended a gala hosted by Nordstrom. The event raised more than $110,000 for COCA, the Contemporary Arts Museum St. Louis (CAM), the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Saint Louis Art Museum. The evening event also featured a performance by a cappella group, Naturally 7.

Nordstrom operates another full-line store in Missouri at West County Center (Des Peres, Mo.), which opened in 2002. In addition, the company has a Nordstrom Rack at Brentwood Square (St. Louis, Mo.) that opened in 2010 and will open a Nordstrom Rack in Manchester, Mo. in fall 2012.
