Nordstrom Opens New, Relocated Store at Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, California

SEATTLE, May 7, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) opened the doors to its new, relocated store at Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, Calif. today. The new 138,000 square-foot store offers customers an expanded selection of quality, luxury and designer fashion brands for women, men and children. The original Nordstrom at Los Cerritos Center opened in 1981.

"We're absolutely delighted to give our customers a brand new store and thank them for shopping with us for almost 30 years," said Kathy Fisher, Nordstrom Cerritos store manager. "When customers walk through the doors for the first time, we hope they'll love their new store and enhanced merchandise selection we can now offer them."

The two-level store offers customers four new departments featuring exciting new brands including: Designer Handbags featuring Jimmy Choo, Valentino and Michael Kors, a via C department offering fashion from emerging and of the moment designers such as Elizabeth and James, Alice + Olivia and T by Alexander Wang, a Sunglasses Shop with eyewear by Roberto Cavalli, Bulgari and Oliver Peoples, and a David Yurman jewelry shop.

In addition to the great selection of clothing, accessories, cosmetics and shoes, Nordstrom at Los Cerritos Center offers a number of services to enhance the shopping experience. These amenities include a beauty studio in Cosmetics (new to the store) for personalized skincare services, in-store alterations and tailor shop, certified bra and prosthesis fitters, complimentary gift boxes and Personal Stylist -- a complimentary wardrobe and shopping service. The store will also feature two food offerings; Cafe Bistro (also new), a restaurant featuring bistro-style cuisine and an espresso bar.

Opening day started at 8:00 a.m. with Nordstrom hosting a Beauty Bash outside the store's mall entrance. Shoppers enjoyed complimentary skincare consultations and learned about the latest trends in makeup and fragrance. When the store opened at 10:00 a.m., more than 400 excited employees cheered enthusiastically to welcome customers through the doors.

Earlier in the week, Nordstrom underwrote and held an opening gala that raised more than $75,000 for two local nonprofits: the Long Beach Museum of Art and the Community Family Guidance Center.
