Nordstrom Opens First Store in San Antonio, Texas at The Shops at La Cantera

SEATTLE, Sept 16, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) opened the doors to its 96th Full-Line Store in San Antonio, Texas, today at The Shops at La Cantera. Over 300 applauding store employees lined the aisles of the 144,000-square foot store to cheer the first customers through the door. The store is the retailer's sixth Full-Line Store in the state of Texas.

"We're excited to open the doors to our first store in San Antonio at the Shops at La Cantera," said Lisa Frandsen, store manager. "La Cantera has so many great stores and choices for the customer -- we're proud to be a part of this new center. We'll try to earn each customer's business by offering great fashion and what we hope will be a unique shopping experience."

Nordstrom at the Shops at La Cantera offers a wide selection of quality shoes, clothing and accessories for women, men and children. The merchandise offering includes 2,500 tubes of lipstick, 4,000 handbags, 10,000 pairs of hosiery, 1,700 ties and 2,000 men's dress shirts in 63 different sizes. The wide selection includes Nordstrom exclusives such as Faconnable, Classiques Entier, Halogen and Caslon. The store also offers Personal Touch, a complimentary wardrobing service, Cafe Bistro, Ebar (espresso bar), live piano music, a family restroom, in-store alterations and tailor shop and a shoe shine stand.

Earlier in the week, Nordstrom celebrated its opening with a gala party to benefit the Junior League of San Antonio, Cancer Therapy and Research Center and San Antonio Public Library Foundation. Two thousand guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, a runway fashion show and the opportunity to do some "sneak preview" shopping. The fashionable fete raised $200,000.
