Nordstrom Opens First Store in Irvine, California at Irvine Spectrum Center

SEATTLE, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) opened the doors to its 97th Full-Line Store in Irvine, Calif., today at Irvine Spectrum Center. Over 300 applauding store employees lined the aisles of the 125,000-square foot store to cheer the first customers through the door. The store is the retailer's fifth Full-Line Store in Orange County.

"We opened our first California store here in Orange County at South Coast Plaza in 1978," said May Koby, store manager. "We have been privileged to serve this community for over 27 years and we're excited to open our newest store at Irvine Spectrum Center. We'll continue to work hard to earn each customer's business by offering compelling fashion and what we hope will be a wonderful shopping experience."

Nordstrom at Irvine Spectrum Center offers a wide selection of quality shoes, clothing and accessories for women, men and children. The merchandise offering includes 1,200 shades of lipstick, over 1,500 handbags, 10,000 pairs of hosiery, 1,500 ties and 2,300 men's dress shirts in 63 different sizes. The wide selection includes Nordstrom exclusives such as Faconnable, Classiques Entier, Halogen and Caslon. The store also offers Cafe Bistro, an Ebar (espresso bar), live piano music, a family restroom, and an in-store alterations and tailor shop.

Earlier in the week, Nordstrom celebrated its opening with a gala party to benefit CASA of Orange County and Laura's House. Over 1,400 guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, a runway fashion show and the opportunity to do some "sneak preview" shopping. The fashionable fete raised $150,000.
