Nordstrom Opens at Dadeland Mall

SEATTLE, Nov 12, 2004 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. opened its 94th full-line store in Miami, Fla. today at Dadeland Mall. Over 400 applauding store employees lined the aisles of the 150,000-square foot store to cheer the first customers through the door. The store is the retailer's sixth full-line store in the state of Florida.

"Miami is a great market and we're proud to be a part of it," said Monita Hammons, store manager. "Reaching tourists at Dadeland Mall will be a large part of our business; but more importantly, we want to become the hometown store in Miami and serve the needs of the local community."

Nordstrom Dadeland Mall offers a wide selection of quality shoes, clothing and accessories for women, men and children. The merchandise offering includes 9,222 tubes of lipstick in 1,200 shades, 2,500 handbags, 5,300 pairs of hosiery, 1,500 ties and 2,700 men's dress shirts in 63 different sizes. The wide selection includes Nordstrom exclusives such as Faconnable, Classiques Entier, Halogen and Caslon. The store also offers Personal Touch, a complimentary wardrobing service, Cafe Bistro, Ebar (espresso bar), live piano music, a family restroom, open-sell cosmetics, in-store alterations and tailor shop and a shoe shine stand.

Earlier in the week, Nordstrom celebrated its opening with a gala party to benefit the Junior League of Miami and the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation. Over 1,500 guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, a runway fashion show and the opportunity to do some "sneak preview" shopping. The fashionable fete raised over $225,000.
