New Nordstrom Rack Coming to Boca Raton, Florida

SEATTLE, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) has announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack store at University Commons shopping center in Boca Raton, Fl. The 36,000-square-foot store is projected to open in fall 2010.

The new Nordstrom Rack will join a strong mix of retailers at the center that includes Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond and Barnes & Noble. University Commons also features several dining destinations, such as PF Changs, McCormick & Schmicks and J Alexanders. Boca Raton-based Schmier & Feurring Properties developed the property and leases and manages the shopping center.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, and carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50-60% off original Nordstrom prices. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores and purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, with most at savings of 30-70% off.

The Nordstrom Rack at University Commons will be located approximately one mile from the Nordstrom store at Boca Town Center. Nordstrom has announced plans to open two other Nordstrom Racks in Southeast Florida in 2010, at the Palms at Town & Country in Kendall, Fl. and at Miracle Marketplace in Coral Gables, Fl. The company currently operates six Nordstrom stores and one Nordstrom Rack in the region.
